A 41-year-old woman reported missing in Yeovil has been found safe with her family, Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed. The development brings the public search for Joanne to an end after officers appealed for information about her whereabouts.
Joanne was last seen on Sherborne Road at about 11am on Friday, 21 August. Avon and Somerset Police later asked residents and other members of the public to share information that could help officers establish where she was.
The force said Joanne might appear confused if approached. Police also highlighted that she had connections to Yeovil and Somerton and frequently walked between the two locations, information intended to help identify anyone who might have encountered her while she was missing.
What police told the public
When the appeal was issued, Joanne was described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with short grey hair. She was believed to be wearing a grey and pink T-shirt, blue harem trousers with an elephant print and white trainers.
The clothing and appearance details were provided to help people recognise Joanne and pass information to officers. The reference to Somerton was also relevant to the search because she could have been travelling or walking between the two locations.
People with information had previously been asked to call 999 and quote reference number 5226236595, or contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101. Those contact details are no longer needed now that police have confirmed she is safe.

Avon and Somerset Police thanked members of the public who shared the appeal and supported efforts to locate Joanne. The force has not supplied further information about the circumstances of her disappearance, where she was found or what happened while she was missing.
