A person has died following a medical emergency at The Bell Inn on Preston Road, Yeovil.
South Western Ambulance Service was called to the pub shortly after 11.30am on Sunday 16 August. The ambulance service requested assistance from Avon and Somerset Police because the incident had taken place at a public location.
The pub was temporarily closed while paramedics and police dealt with the emergency. Despite efforts to save the individual, they were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police confirm death was non-suspicious
Avon and Somerset Police said officers arrived to support paramedics who were already attending. A police spokesperson confirmed that the person’s family had been informed and expressed condolences to them.
“Sadly, the patient was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their family are aware and our thoughts are with them.”
Police said the death was being treated as non-suspicious and that the coroner had been notified. No further details about the person have been released.
