Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious head and facial injuries in an assault in Yeovil during the early hours of Sunday, 26 July.
The victim was walking from St Michael’s Avenue towards Hawthorn Road when he was attacked by an unknown assailant. Avon and Somerset Police believe the incident happened sometime between 11:50pm on Saturday, 25 July, and 12:05am on Sunday, 26 July.
Police investigation under way
Officers believe the assault took place along a route encompassing St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue and Northbrook Road. The man was taken to hospital for treatment for substantial facial and head injuries, but has since been discharged and is recovering.
Police investigations are continuing and include house-to-house enquiries and the examination of CCTV footage from the area. Officers are asking anyone who was nearby during the timeframe and saw anything suspicious to contact them.
Appeal for recordings and witnesses
Police are also seeking relevant CCTV, doorbell-camera or dashcam recordings from St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, Northbrook Road and nearby streets, covering late Saturday night through to early Sunday morning.
