Yeovil Town have secured winger Ryan Jones on a new contract that will keep him at Huish Park until the summer of 2029, strengthening the club’s plans around one of its brightest attacking players.
The 24-year-old has made a fast start to the new campaign, registering three goals and five assists in his first 12 matches. His form follows an encouraging arrival at Yeovil, where he was described as a bright spark during an otherwise forgettable end to the 2025-26 season.
A longer stay for Yeovil’s winger
Jones initially joined the Glovers on a deal running until the summer of 2028. The new agreement adds a further year to that commitment.
Gloverscast reported that Jones arrived from Aldershot Town in January for a reported five-figure sum. The move came after the winger had helped Aldershot win the FA Trophy in 2025.
The contract extension comes as Jones’s performances have attracted attention at the beginning of the new campaign. The report said the additional year was understood to be intended to guard against interest from other clubs, although that explanation was presented as an assumption rather than a confirmed statement from Yeovil Town.
Club commitment to Jones
Announcing the deal on social media on Friday night, Yeovil Town said:
“The new deal reflects the club’s confidence in Jones and its commitment to retaining key players for the future, ensuring he remains part of the Glovers’ plans until 2029.”
Bath-born Jones began his career in Bristol Rovers’ academy before later spells with Bromley and Aldershot Town. His time with Aldershot included the club’s 2025 FA Trophy-winning side.
The extension gives Yeovil certainty over Jones’s future at Huish Park through 2029, following a run of performances that has quickly made him an important part of the team.
