Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley and captain Luke McCormick have been recognised with nominations for the National League’s August manager and player of the month awards.
The nominations follow an unbeaten month for the Glovers, who recorded three wins and two draws across five league matches. The run leaves Yeovil among only two National League sides to have avoided defeat in August, according to the nomination details.
Five matches without defeat
Rowley’s record for the month was three wins and two draws. Yeovil began August with a 1-1 draw away to Scunthorpe United, followed by a 1-1 home draw against Carlisle United.
The Glovers then produced three consecutive victories: a 3-0 home win over Gateshead, a 2-1 away success against Barrow and a 3-2 home victory over Tamworth.
McCormick recognised for goals
McCormick’s nomination reflects his contribution in front of goal during the unbeaten run. The Yeovil captain scored four times in August, with goals coming across victories against Gateshead, Barrow and Tamworth.
Rowley is competing against Luke Garrard, Chris Agutter and Daryl McMahon for the manager’s award. McCormick’s player-of-the-month opponents are Matt Rush, former Yeovil player Tristan Abrahams and Dan Urpins.
The nominations give the club two representatives among the National League’s monthly award candidates after a strong start to the campaign. The announcement also highlighted McCormick’s four-goal contribution and Rowley’s five-match unbeaten record.
