Yeovil Town supporters will have the chance to see familiar faces from the club’s past return to Huish Park when a Legends team plays a special charity match in May 2027.
The event will mark 25 years since Yeovil Town’s FA Trophy victory, a final win that helped start the club’s push into the Football League. The match against a South West Legends XI will take place on Sunday 2 May 2027, with kick-off at 2pm.
Charity match and family fun day
Organisers Abby Carter and Kevin Gall, who were behind the first Legends match, confirmed the return in a statement released to the press on Thursday lunchtime.
“The game against a South West Legends XI will once again raise money for the Adam Stansfield Foundation, a charity set up in honour of the striker who scored the Glovers’ second goal in that final at Villa Park. The match will take place at Huish Park on Sunday 2nd May 2027 with a 2pm kick-off. Organisers have promised that supporters of all ages can see a host of familiar faces from Glovers’ teams of the past 25 years take on some familiar faces from across South West football. A special anniversary kit is being commissioned to mark a quarter-of-a-century since the Trophy final which kick-started the Glovers’ push in to the Football League, and a range of sponsorship and hospitality packages are available. The day will start with a family fun day in the Huish Park Ciderspace Fan Zone from 11.30am with entertainment for supporters of all ages.”

Previous Legends match attracted almost 2,000 fans
The planned fixture follows the first Legends match at Huish Park in 2022. Former Yeovil boss Gary Johnson managed the side, which included former favourites Terry Skiverton, Gavin Williams and Kevin Gall.
Almost 2,000 people attended that game, which finished 3-3 against a South West Legends XI managed by Darren Sarll. Gary Johnson also signed autographs for Yeovil fans during his return to Huish Park for the event.
The Gloverscast said it was honoured to be associated with the latest event as an official media partner and would provide more information about its involvement in the build-up and on the day.
