Jos Barker has been named Yeovil Town’s Man of the Match after the Glovers’ 1-0 away win at Kidderminster Harriers. Barker received the vast majority of supporter nominations, with Ryan Jones finishing second and goalscorer Johl Powell third.

Yeovil secured the victory through Powell’s second-half goal. The result gave supporters another chance to vote for the player they felt had made the biggest contribution, and Barker emerged as the clear choice.

How the Kidderminster vote finished

Barker collected 80 votes, representing 51% of the total. Jones was second with 17 votes, or 10.8%, while Powell’s winning goal was accompanied by a third-place finish in the supporters’ poll after he received 15 votes, or 9.6%.

The Kidderminster result continued a strong run of recognition for Barker. He had also won Yeovil’s Man of the Match vote against Carlisle United and Barrow in August, as well as Southend United in September.

Jones had previously topped the poll against Gateshead and then won back-to-back awards against AFC Fylde, Aldershot and Solihull Moors. His second-place finish at Kidderminster came after that run of three successive September wins.

September award goes to Ryan Jones

Although Barker won the latest match vote, Jones finished September as the club’s Player of the Month. He led the monthly standings with 13 points and three Man of the Match awards.

Barker was second in the September Player of the Month ranking with six points and two Man of the Match awards. Archie Davies placed third with five points and no individual match awards during the month.

The September monthly vote attracted 641 votes. It followed August’s Player of the Month poll, which received 780 votes and was won by Barker with eight points and two Man of the Match awards.

Jordan Norville-Williams finished second in August with seven points and one Man of the Match award, while Luke McCormick was third with five points and no match awards.
