Yeovil Town have secured their place in the next stage of the FA Cup after beating Leatherhead 5-2 in the fourth-round qualifying replay.

The result was listed among Tuesday’s replay results by BBC Sport, although the report did not provide further details about the match at the time of publication. The first round proper is the next stage of the competition, with ties scheduled to take place between 6 and 9 November.

Stafford Rangers make history

The headline result of the round came at Marston Road, where eighth-tier Stafford Rangers defeated National League side Gateshead 5-0. Stafford had drawn 1-1 in the original tie on Saturday before completing a decisive victory in the replay.

Scott Bakkor, Darryl Mason, Mitch Clarke, Joe Dunne and Jack Birch scored for Stafford. Gateshead are bottom of the fifth tier, while Stafford are one of two eighth-tier clubs still involved in the competition.

Stafford will host League Two club Grimsby Town in the first round. It is the first time in 20 years that Stafford Rangers have reached the first round proper.

Who Yeovil and the other clubs will face

Yeovil Town’s 5-2 victory over Leatherhead means the Somerset club continues its FA Cup campaign alongside a varied group of clubs from across the English football pyramid. The BBC report did not state Yeovil’s first-round opponent in the supplied material.

Other ties confirmed in the draw include Alvechurch travelling to League One high-flyers Plymouth Argyle after a 4-0 win over Spalding United. Cray Wanderers will host League One leaders Stockport County after beating Bedford Town on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Worcester City will visit League Two side Colchester United after a 1-0 win over Chorley. AFC Rushden & Diamonds, the other eighth-tier team remaining, will travel to Burton Albion.

The lowest-ranked club left in the competition, ninth-tier Tadley Calleva, were beaten 2-0 at home by Aldershot in their replay. Aldershot will instead visit third-tier Barnsley.

Harrogate Town needed extra time to defeat seventh-tier Bury 3-1, while Macclesfield won 3-0 at Anstey Nomads. Macclesfield will travel to League One side Mansfield.

The qualifying replay round was the final stage of this season’s competition in which ties could be decided by a replay. All later rounds will be settled on the day, with extra time and penalties used if required.
