Yeovil Town return to Huish Park on Saturday afternoon for a second home game in the space of a week, with Boston United the visitors. The Glovers go into the National League fixture in sixth place and unbeaten in four matches after drawing 1-1 with Worthing on Tuesday night.

Boston arrive in 19th, but their position does not tell the whole story of a side that has already recorded strong victories against Forest Green Rovers and Altrincham. The Pilgrims drew 1-1 away at FC Halifax in their last match and will travel to the South West hoping that result can begin a more consistent run.

Yeovil's latest result

Yeovil’s midweek point came after Worthing took the lead just before the half-hour mark. Razzaq Coleman De Graft broke the deadlock in a game described as a difficult test for the Glovers.

The equaliser arrived immediately after half-time. A Brett McGavin free-kick caused confusion before finding the net, with the goal eventually recorded as an own goal by Worthing defender Joe Cook.

The draw kept Yeovil sixth in the table while extending their unbeaten sequence to four matches. It also means the club have had back-to-back games at Huish Park this week, with Saturday’s meeting against Boston completing that home double.

Players to watch at Huish Park

Ryan Jones is highlighted as a key Yeovil player. The 24-year-old right-sided midfielder has been central to the creative approach being developed by manager Billy Rowley, regularly staying wide, moving into attacking positions and contributing goals and assists.

Jones’ consistency can make his performances easy to overlook, but his contribution remains an important part of Yeovil’s attacking plan. There is one unusual pattern in his season so far: whenever he has provided an assist, the Glovers have not won, recording two defeats and two draws in those matches.

For Boston, left-back Jamie Grimes has played every minute of the club’s 11 league games so far. The 35-year-old has contributed two goals and one assist, while also bringing experience to a team whose results have been uneven.

Grimes is described as strong in aerial duels and difficult to beat when opponents take him on, although errors have sometimes led to shots. His presence could also help Boston cope with pressure on the defensive left side.

Paul Hurst returns to Boston

Boston are managed by Paul Hurst, a familiar name in Football League management who has returned to the Pilgrims’ dugout. Hurst, 52, played more than 500 matches for Rotherham between 1993 and 2008 before ending his playing career after a loan spell at Burton.

He moved into management in 2009 as joint manager of Ilkeston with former team-mate Rob Scott. The pair later spent two years at Boston before resigning and joining Grimsby the following day. Hurst remained at Grimsby until 2013, when Scott was dismissed for gross misconduct.

Hurst then began his solo managerial career, spending time at Grimsby, Shrewsbury, Ipswich and Scunthorpe. He returned to Grimsby in 2020 for a further three years, followed by another spell at Shrewsbury before leaving in 2024. He returned to the Boston Community Stadium in January last year.

Hurst has never lost to Yeovil in four meetings, winning all four. That record gives Saturday’s fixture an additional strand of interest as the Glovers look to continue their current unbeaten run.

Recent meetings between the clubs

The most recent meeting went Boston’s way. When Yeovil travelled to the Boston Community Stadium in March, Aaron Jarvis gave the visitors the lead after 16 minutes. Boston equalised six minutes later through Jake Rooney before Jody Hiwula scored in the 73rd minute to secure a 2-1 victory for the Pilgrims.

The previous meeting at Huish Park produced the opposite result, with Yeovil winning 2-1. Luke McCormick scored both goals to secure all three points for the Glovers.

There are no former Yeovil players in the current Boston squad for home supporters to look out for. Rob Massey-Ellis is the match official for Saturday’s game.
