Yeovil Town will welcome Altrincham to Huish Park this Saturday with Ben Atkinson appointed as referee for the National League fixture.
The match will be Atkinson’s first time officiating at Yeovil’s home ground and his first involvement in a Yeovil Town game in any capacity. Andrew Hickman and Ryan Saward have been named as the assistant referees, while Phillip Eddie will serve as fourth official.
What the referee’s record shows
Atkinson has taken charge of eight matches this season, including three in League Two. Those games have produced 28 yellow cards, two red cards and two penalties, suggesting supporters could see a busy afternoon for the match officials.
Across his three League Two appointments, there have been 14 yellow cards. The appointment therefore brings a referee with experience of managing games at a higher level into Saturday’s National League contest.
Previous Altrincham connection
Atkinson has already refereed one Altrincham match. That game was Altrincham’s 1-0 home defeat by Gateshead in 2023, when Matt Gould was among the Altrincham squad.
Eddie was also fourth official for Yeovil Town’s FA Cup fourth qualifying-round replay on Tuesday night. The officials for Saturday’s fixture are listed as: referee Ben Atkinson; assistant referees Andrew Hickman and Ryan Saward; and fourth official Phillip Eddie.
