A man suffered serious head and facial injuries during a late-night assault in Yeovil, prompting an appeal for witnesses and video footage from several roads in the area.
Avon and Somerset Police said the attack happened between 11.50pm on Saturday, 25 July, and 12.05am on Sunday, 26 July. The victim was walking along a route between St Michael’s Avenue and Hawthorn Road when he was attacked by an unknown assailant.
Where the assault happened
Police believe the assault took place somewhere along the path covering St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue and Northbrook Road. The exact location has not been identified in the appeal.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment for significant facial and head wounds. He has since been discharged and is recovering.
Police appeal for footage
Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries and reviewed CCTV footage, but the investigation remains ongoing. They want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw suspicious behaviour.
Police are also asking residents, drivers and anyone nearby to check for relevant recordings from St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, Northbrook Road and surrounding locations. Footage could include CCTV, doorbell-camera recordings or dashcam video captured between late on Saturday, 25 July, and the early hours of Sunday, 26 July.
