Avon and Somerset Police have widened their appeal for late-night CCTV, doorbell-camera and dashcam recordings after a man suffered significant head and facial injuries in an assault in Yeovil.

The force is asking residents, drivers and witnesses to check recordings covering St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, Northbrook Road and the route towards Hawthorn Road. The attacker has not been identified, and officers are still investigating where the assault happened.

The victim was walking when he was attacked by an unknown assailant between 11.50pm on Saturday, 25 July, and 12.05am on Sunday, 26 July. He suffered significant wounds to his face and head and was taken to hospital for treatment.
