Yeovil Town will face Wealdstone on Saturday with Callum Jones taking charge of a Glovers match for the first time as referee.

The National League fixture, listed as Wealdstone FC (First Team) v Yeovil Town FC (First Team), is scheduled to begin at 3pm. Jones has previously been involved in a Yeovil game as an assistant referee, but this will be his first appointment in the middle for the club.

A first Yeovil refereeing appointment

Jones’s only previous involvement in a Yeovil fixture came away at Altrincham in 2022, when he served as an assistant. His appointment this weekend therefore represents a new role in the club’s matchday history.

He has already refereed Wealdstone once. That match was also away at Altrincham, in February, when Wealdstone lost 1-0. Two Wealdstone players were shown yellow cards during the game.

Jones’s season so far

Jones has officiated eight matches this season across the National League, National League Cup and Premier League 2. His record includes 23 yellow cards, no red cards and one penalty awarded.

He was also given play-off responsibilities in the National League North last season and has taken charge of Premier League U21 International Cup matches involving youth teams including Borussia Dortmund’s. The source describes him as a highly regarded official.
