Yeovil Town produced another emphatic 6-0 victory, following up their win over Boston United by beating Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale on Saturday 10 October 2026.
The Glovers led 1-0 at half-time but scored five times after the interval. Midfielder Brett McGavin was the outstanding performer, completing a hat-trick, while Johl Powell scored twice and James Daly added the opening goal.
The result was Yeovil’s second successive 6-0 win. The match was played in the National League Premier Division, with kick-off listed as 3pm. The report described a sunny day and a green pitch, although it noted that the sun was in the eyes of the travelling supporters throughout the second half. No attendance figure was provided.
Wealdstone goalkeeper sent off
Wealdstone began the match on the front foot. Fejiri Okenabirhie headed over the crossbar after four minutes, before Yeovil goalkeeper Jos Barker made a brave intervention to deny him soon afterwards.
The home side continued to have much of the early possession without forcing Barker into further meaningful saves. The balance changed in the 25th minute when the Wealdstone goalkeeper came out of his area to challenge Slavi Spasov. Referee Callum Jones showed a red card, leaving the hosts with 10 players.
Endurance Johnson came on in goal, with former Yeovil forward Olufela Olomola making way. McGavin struck the wall with the resulting free-kick, while Powell sent the follow-up effort over the bar.
Yeovil gradually took control and went ahead four minutes later. Ryan Jones dribbled in from the left and passed to Archie Davies, whose shot was pushed away by Johnson. Powell’s attempt was blocked, but the ball fell to Daly, who drove it through the replacement goalkeeper’s legs.
The visitors almost doubled their advantage before the break. Jordan Norville-Williams produced a skilful piece of play to find Spasov, whose close-range effort was turned wide by Johnson.
There was a concern for Yeovil during first-half injury time when Jones took a blow to the back of his head. He received treatment and had a bandage applied, but continued until half-time. Yeovil went into the interval 1-0 ahead.
McGavin completes his hat-trick
Yeovil continued to threaten after the restart. Jones fired over in the 52nd minute, then cut in from the right seven minutes later and forced Johnson to get down well to make a save.
Powell extended the lead in the 64th minute. He shrugged off a challenge from his defender and slipped the ball beyond Johnson to make it 2-0.
McGavin then took over. He had started the move for Yeovil’s third goal, with Powell and Walker combining to set him up. McGavin finished from the edge of the penalty area in the 70th minute.
Only a minute later, he scored again. McGavin capitalised on a loose pass from Johnson, held off a Wealdstone defender as he moved into the box and poked the ball home for 4-0.
His third goal arrived with six minutes of normal time remaining. McGavin collected possession, took a couple of strides forward and sent a finish into the net from 25 yards, completing a hat-trick that gave Yeovil a five-goal advantage.
Yeovil’s travelling supporters called for a sixth goal, and Powell supplied it in the first minute of stoppage time. Substitute Owen Dean closed down Johnson, who miscued his clearance. The ball went straight to Powell, who ran forward and scored.
Powell denied a late hat-trick
There was still time for a final incident. During a quick break, Walker found Powell inside the penalty area. Aidan Francis-Clark brought Powell down, giving away a penalty and receiving a red card as Wealdstone were reduced to nine players.
Powell took the spot-kick with the chance to complete his own hat-trick, but Johnson saved. Yeovil nevertheless completed a second consecutive 6-0 victory.
The match details record Yeovil’s only booking as Jordan Norville-Williams in first-half stoppage time. Wealdstone’s Connor McAvoy was booked in the third minute of added time. The report does not provide details of Yeovil’s next fixture.
