A person has died after suffering a medical emergency at The Bell Inn on Preston Road, Yeovil.
South Western Ambulance Service was called to the pub shortly after 11.30am on Sunday 16 August. Avon and Somerset Police were also asked to attend because the emergency had taken place at a public location.
Despite efforts to save the individual, they were pronounced deceased at the scene. The pub was temporarily closed while paramedics and police dealt with the incident.
Police treat death as non-suspicious
Avon and Somerset Police said officers arrived to support paramedics who were already at the pub. The person’s family had been informed, and the force expressed its condolences.
“Sadly, the patient was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their family are aware and our thoughts are with them.”
Police said the death was being treated as non-suspicious and confirmed that the coroner had been notified. No further details about the person have been released.
