Yeovil Town goalkeeper Jos Barker has been voted the Gloverscast Player of the Month for August after two standout performances helped him finish top of the supporters’ monthly poll.
The new goalkeeper collected eight points from the fan vote, including two Man of the Match awards. He won the vote in Yeovil Town’s matches against Carlisle United and Barrow, and also finished on the podium twice more during the month.
Jordan Norville-Williams finished second with seven points and one Man of the Match award, while Luke McCormick took third place with five points. In total, 780 votes were recorded for the August award.
How the August votes were decided
The Gloverscast scoring system awards three points to every Man of the Match winner, two points for a second-place finish and one point for third. If players finish level on points, the number of first-place Man of the Match votes is used as the tie-breaker.
Barker’s first monthly win came after he received 71 votes, or 46.7 per cent, against Carlisle United on August 15. He followed that with an even stronger result against Barrow on August 28, taking 114 votes, or 65.1 per cent.
His other podium finish came in the opening match against Scunthorpe on August 8, when he placed third with 12 votes, or 9.2 per cent. Barker also finished third against Tamworth on August 31, receiving 10 votes, or 6.4 per cent.
Norville-Williams and McCormick among monthly leaders
Norville-Williams began the month strongly, winning the Scunthorpe vote with 91 votes, equivalent to 70 per cent. He was second against Carlisle and Barrow, taking 34 and 35 votes respectively, before ending the month with seven points overall.
McCormick was third in the monthly standings after collecting five points. He finished second against Gateshead, Barrow and Tamworth, with 42, 10 and 24 votes respectively.
Fans can continue voting after every Yeovil Town match, with votes from each game contributing to the next Player of the Month score.
